Davina's 700 Mile Coastal Charity Walk to help Save Our Oceans

Do you want to embark on a beautiful scenic walk to help charity? Davina is asking for volunteers to help join her.

Davina Farrer is walking 700 miles from Somerset to Dorset along the coast in order to raise money for Ocean Generation in a bid to help save our oceans.

The walk will take place over 9 weeks from 17 May to mid-late July 2021.

Setting off from Clevedon Pier in Somerset, Davina will head along the South West coast to Poole in Dorset. She is asking for as many people to join her on parts of the journey. If you live on the South West coast, get in touch with Davina and join her for this brilliant charity fundraiser.

The charity, Ocean Generation, is on a mission to help preserve our beautiful coastline and oceans.

Davina is an advocate of recycling, loves the outdoors and wants to preserve our incredible coastlines as much as possible.

Ocean Generation reports that a whopping 12.7 million tonnes of plastic enters our oceans each year, seriously affecting the ocean wildlife.

This could increase tenfold by 2025.

Since 2012, Davina has had the South-West Coastal Path on her bucket list. Her favourite motto is from Richard Branson, “If someone offers you an amazing opportunity and you’re not sure you can do it, say yes then learn how to do it later“. She lives by this.

Barbara Coulson, friend of Davina’s for over 40 years, said:

“When Davina announced she was walking the South West coastal path, I can’t say I was surprised. She is always looking for new challenges and ways to raise money for good causes. This trip will certainly be a challenge, but I know she will succeed because she has such a positive and ‘can do’ attitude.”

Hilary Ingram also recognises Davina’s flare for life:

“Davina has always taken life at a million miles an hour. I know she loves the sea and so I wasn’t at all surprised when she told me about her trip. The wild camping bit- well I’d expect no less from my lovely but slightly crazy friend!”

Davina is excited about her coastal walk, as she describes the sea as mesmerising. She is a partner with Utility Warehouse, who have kindly agreed to match her donations.

Davina intends to backpack most of the journey. She is on the hunt for as many people to join her en-route during her 700 Mile walk from Somerset to Dorset and share the experience, whilst raising money for charity.
