Cranfield Coop reopens with temporary front door

Cranfield Coop reopens

Cranfield Coop finally reopened this morning (26 August). There was no fanfare, a celebrity with oversized scissors or a crowd of local well-wishers. Not even the newspaper delivery turned up to mark the event.

The store closure was due to damage caused by a ram-raid. The ram-raiders made off with the store’s cash machine (ATM). This has yet to be replaced.
The store will be closing again to have the new custom made shop front installed. The date for this will be announced in the next week or so.
Despite having a temporary wooden front door the opening hours will remain the same, 06:00 until 23:00 every day.
The Post Office will also open today.
The first item purchased this morning was a tin of baked beans.
