Cranfield Post Office

Post Office has agreed to relocate Cranfield Post Office to a new location – Co-op, 57-67 High Street, Cranfield, MK43 0AR

Its partner, the Co-op, has identified an opportunity to move this branch into an alternative brand-new location to continue to offer Post Office services to the local community.

This will help secure continued access to Post Office services locally, as well as supporting the viability of the business.

The current branch at Co-op, Mill Road, Cranfield, MK43 0JG will close on Thursday 25 November at 4pm, with the new branch opening on Friday 3 December at 6am.

During the transfer alternative Post Office branches include:

  • Marston Moreteyne Post Office, 67 Bedford Road, Marston Moreteyne, MK43 0LA
  • Wootton Post Office, 46-48 Bedford Road, Wootton, Bedford, MK43 9JT

The new Cranfield Post Office will be in a dedicated area of the store with two screened serving points, as well as a Post Office serving point provided for use at the retail counter and available during shop opening hours.

The opening hours of the screened counters will be Monday – Saturday: 9am – 5.30pm, and at the retail counter: Monday – Sunday: 6am – 10pm.

The same wide range of Post Office products and services will be available.

These new premises are located approximately 900 metres from the previous site.

Post Office said that with any relocation it is inevitable that whilst some customers will have an easier journey to the new location, regrettably others will have further to travel.

It added, that in terms of pedestrian access to the new location, there are well maintained pavements, with dropped kerbs along the route from the current site.

After careful consideration of consultation feedback, it remains confident that the layout and location of the new branch will continue to meet customer needs and deliver an excellent service, whilst securing the long-term viability of Post Office services in the local community.
