Sounds Familiar Community Choir’s Christmas concerts
The Sounds Familiar Community Choir started its Christmas celebrations with a Christmas concert at Cranfield Church on 1st December. The choir entertained with a varied selection of Christmas songs including Jingle Bells set to the Nutcracker suite, and a new arrangement of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer!
The audience was also introduced to a new rendition of the Hallelujah Chorus. Everyone was also encouraged to join in their favourite carols during the concert, helped along by the mulled wine!
It sang at Xscape on 4th December and Tesco’s at Kingston on 11th and 18th December, where it was collecting for Sepsis UK, its Christmas charity for 2018.
Over the Christmas period, it raised £800 for Sepsis UK. During 2018, the Choir raised over £2,000 for charity.
Its last Christmas appearance was taking part in the Midnight Mass at Cranfield Church. This proved to be an emotional service, as it was the Rev Hugh Symes-Thompson’s last Cranfield Midnight Service before his retirement.
