Forest Folk and Roots presents one bloke and his mandolin
Billed as STEViE SIMPSON – One Bloke One Mandolin, Stevie Simpson has been playing regularly at motorcycle rallies and festivals all over the UK since 2000.
STEViE’s music has been described as gutsy, edgy and raw – a hardcore, barstool troubadour. This is with a voice as “raw as cigarettes and single malt in a backstreet bar late on a Saturday night”.
He plays a mix of original country and folk from his back-catalogue of 6 studio albums.
Touring extensively both abroad and in the UK, STEViE has played at festivals such as The Acoustic Festival Of Britain, Americana, Beautiful Days, Wickham Festival, Bearded Theory, Blissfields and Something Else In The Dean.
He has played alongside the likes of Status Quo, Jethro Tull, Dave Edmunds, Dr Feelgood, The Bad Shepherds, The Levellers, The Damned, The Stranglers, Fun Loving Criminals, Wilko Johnson, Hawkwind and John Otway.
For a number of years he has, amongst many gigs, regularly played/compered gigs for the National Association for Bikers with Disabilities (NABD) at their rallies and in 2010 became a patron.

Support comes from Leon C, a young contemporary folk singer songwriter based in Birmingham.
After 9 years of playing guitar with classical training, Leon began mixing his love for poetry and vintage music with his more modern influences to create poetically inflected, contemporary folk music.
After releasing his debut album “Please” in 2018, he is out with a new set of songs, bringing new stories to audiences around the UK.
