Buses run every hour
Uno, who runs buses from the village of Cranfield to Bedford and Milton Keynes, recently made changes to its Sunday timetable.
The routes run every 30 mins all day on weekdays and now run every hour from early until late on both Saturdays and Sundays.
Jim Thorpe, managing director at Uno, said:
“We’ve been running Cranfield Connect since 2013 and it’s a real success story.
“The routes are well used by both staff and students at Cranfield University as well as members of the public, it’s a key link from villages into both Bedford and Milton Keynes.
“Our buses stop close to main rail stations too, and many people find it both easier and cheaper than taking the car and parking.”
A fleet of five brand-new buses were also recently introduced. These have the very latest low-emission engines and a host of features to make journeys by bus even more comfortable. Including free Wi-Fi and USB charging points.
Since the Sunday timetable started in April thousands of people have discovered how the bus connection makes it easier getting into town.
Ed Cameron, commercial manager at Uno said:
“As well as the timetable improvements we’ve been working hard behind the scenes to make it easier to travel by bus.
“For example, all our buses accept contactless payments on board – including from Android Pay and Apple Pay – so you don’t need to get cash out before getting on.
“You can also download the Uno app to your phone, which means you can buy your bus ticket before getting on. There are some great value discounted tickets on the app too.”
