Additional restrictions for visitors at Bedford Hospital Image: Wikicommons

In light of the current activity with COVID-19 (coronavirus) and in addition to national guidance around visiting restrictions, Bedford Hospital would like to advise all visitors that:

Whitbread Ward
No visitors are allowed on Whitbread Ward. This restriction does not apply to patients receiving end of life care.

Delivery Suite
Only one birthing partner allowed

Children’s Outpatients
Only one person (parent/guardian/carer) to accompany a child being seen at their appointment. No children, other than the patient, is allowed to attend.

Main Outpatients
Only one person to accompany a patient being seen at their appointment.

Blood testing (Cauldwell Centre and Gilbert Hitchcock House)
Only one person to accompany a patient in the waiting areas.

Riverbank Ward (children’s)
Two named carers per patient and no siblings are allowed onto Riverbank Ward.

Meadowbank Ward (Neonatal)
Two named carers per patient and no siblings are allowed onto Riverbank Ward.

As previously mentioned all other wards are strictly following the national guidance which is one visitor only, per day between 6pm to 7pm.
