First public meeting
Local people are being invited to attend the first Committee in Common meeting of Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCG), which will be held in public on 18 April 2018.
The three CCGs in Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes (BLMK) agreed at their respective board meetings in July 2017 to set up a Committee in Common. This will bring together commissioners of health services to make decisions together on initiatives to improve services for patients across BLMK.
The purpose of the group is to undertake strategic decision making, in particular, to support the BLMK Integrated Care System (ICS).
Draft Operating Plan
The first meeting in public will cover two items. The first will be the draft BLMK ICS Operating Plan for 2018/19.
While this needs to be finalised with the remaining ICS partners, it will be an opportunity for the public to see plans which focus on prevention, primary care, urgent care, maternity, secondary care, mental health and cancer services in BLMK.
Dr Nicola Smith, GP and Chair of the Committee in Common, said:
“We are committed to being open and transparent about our plans for the future of health and care in BLMK. This meeting gives us the opportunity to share our draft operational plan, which is in the early stages of development.”
Questions from the public
Also included on the agenda are potential changes to align the leadership of the three CCGs, and a proposal to create a single executive management team.
Members of the public are welcome to attend this meeting in public, which will be held on 18 April 2018 at King’s House, 245 Ampthill Rd, Bedford MK42 9AZ, starting at 6pm.
The meeting papers are available to download from each CCG’s website before the meeting.
Questions can be submitted beforehand via email to: email@example.com relating to the business being conducted. Questions will be answered at the meeting and priority will be given to written questions that have been received in advance of the meeting.
