Free event is part of Dementia Action Week

The Higgins Bedford is hosting ‘Wellbeing for Life’ activities on Wednesday 22nd May, as part of Dementia Action Week.

There will be free taster sessions to exercise mind, body and soul with activities including tai chi, yoga, relaxation, languages, art, living history, line dancing, and a community singing experience with The Moonlighters. These will be a great chance to try something new in a safe, welcoming environment.

Experts will be on hand at information stands to answer any questions about dementia or chat through any issues, over light refreshments served throughout the afternoon.

Tom Perrett, manager for Libraries and Culture at Bedford Borough Council said:

“This Wellbeing for Life event and the taster activities are open to all, and a great opportunity to try something new and find out more about staying well in later life.

“It’s also a great chance to speak to experts about any concerns or questions.”

Activities will be running from 1.30pm-4.30pm, provided in partnership with the Alzheimers Society, Carers in Bedfordshire, Tibbs Dementia Foundation and Smarta Healthcare.

This is a completely free event and booking is not required. Just come along to learn and experience how to live as well as you can, with or without dementia.
