Marston Vale Line passengers offered chance to quiz London Northwestern Railway bosses

Passengers who use London Northwestern Railway (LNR) services on the Marston Vale Line are being offered the chance to have their questions answered as part of a new online Q&A.

This is part of LNR’s commitment to keep its customers informed. Previously, it has held regular face-to-face sessions for passengers at stations across the network as part of its popular ‘Whistle Stop Tour’.

Police community message for Kempston Hardwick and Stewartby

A local community police update for Wootton and Kempston Hardwick

Community policing update for Wootton and Kempston Hardwick from PC Amanda Harvey, who is a Bedfordshire Police community officer for a number of areas.

The update mentions some anti-social behaviour by teenagers in Wootton and some recent burglaries.

Stewartby and Kempston Hardwick police update

PCSO James Dancer, who is one of the local community officers for Stewartby and Kempston Hardwick, has given an update to residents.

As well as COVID advice, PCSO Dancer talked about planned days of action based around speeding vehicles in Stewartby and antisocial behaviour in Kempston Hardwick.

Residents are urged to always report incidents to help create an intelligence picture of any issues.

Witness appeal after motorcyclist dies following Kempston Hardwick collision

At approximately 10.50am yesterday (Sunday 20 September 2020), a blue and white Honda motorcycle was involved in a single-vehicle collision on Woburn Road, at the junction of Manor Road, in Kempston Hardwick.

Emergency services attended the incident, and a woman in her 20s was taken to Addenbrookes Hospital with severe head injuries, but sadly did not survive.

Works to rebuild road near Kempston Hardwick start next week

Bedford Borough Council and their contractor are starting works to rebuild part of the B530 near Kempston Hardwick next week. The works will include replacement of sections of the road drainage system together with resurfacing of the road.

Train services resume on the Marston Vale Line

Train services resumed on the Marston Vale Line on Monday 24th August. This is initially only at peak times (three journeys each way in the morning and three in the evening). It is supplemented by a Rail Replacement Bus Service during the rest of the day.

Train services to resume on Marston Vale Line

Rail services will resume on the Marston Vale Line between Bedford and Bletchley from next month, operator London Northwestern Railway (LNR) has announced today (29 July 2020).

The operator took the decision to suspend services at the end of March due to the impact of coronavirus on train crew availability, low passenger numbers and reliability issues with level crossings on the route. Rail replacement buses have been running since.

Play Areas in Bedford Borough to remain closed

With ongoing concerns about the high infection rate in Bedford Borough, Bedford Borough Council has decided that children’s play areas will not be opening on Saturday 4 July.

Marston Vale Line replacement bus service update

A full rail replacement bus service started on the Marston Vale Line today (Monday 18 May 2020). This includes all stations and the limited stop services.
The limited stop service calls at Bedford, Bedford St Johns, Stewartby, Lidlington, Ridgmont, Woburn Sands, Bow Brickhill & Bletchley.

Kempston Hardwick News and information

Kempston Hardwick is a small village near Bedford, England. It has a railway station on the Marston Vale Line. An article in the Guardian in 2003 said that this was one of the least used stations in England.

Modern boundary changes made Kempston Hardwick part of the parish of Stewartby.

Kempston Hardwick is in Bedford Borough Council’s Elstow and Stewartby Ward.
