Bird keepers urged to prepare for winter Avian Flu threat

The Chief Veterinary Officers across the UK are encouraging all poultry keepers to take action now to reduce the risk of disease in their birds over the winter.

There are some simple measures that all poultry keepers, whether they are running a large commercial farm, keeping a few hens in their back garden, or rearing game birds, should take to protect their birds against the threat of avian influenza (bird flu) in the coming winter months.

New Trains for the Marston Vale Line

New Class 230 D Trains have come into service on the Marston Vale Line (Bedford – Bletchley). The train, which has been developed by Vivarail, will provide extra capacity and a more comfortable journey for passengers on the Line. The Marston Vale Line is the first route in the country to benefit from these ground-breaking new trains!

Sounds Familiar Community Choir is looking for new members

Do you like singing for fun?
Following its post-Christmas break, the Sounds Familiar Community Choir will re-commence rehearsals on Tuesday, February 5th at 7.30p.m at Cranfield Baptist church.

The choir, which sings for fun and for charity, is looking out for new members, particularly of the male variety! No audition is needed. Being able to read music not essential either.

Kempston Hardwick News and information

Kempston Hardwick is a small village near Bedford, England. It has a railway station on the Marston Vale Line. An article in the Guardian in 2003 said that this was one of the least used stations in England.

Modern boundary changes made Kempston Hardwick part of the parish of Stewartby.
