Increase in the numbers of larger and slower moving vehicles navigating the Green Lane junction

Bedford Borough Council has said that the ongoing major development works at Green Lane, Stewartby means an increase in the numbers of larger and slower moving vehicles trying to navigate the junction of Green Lane, Stewartby, and the C94 (old A421), Wootton.

The C94 at Wootton and Marston Moretaine is currently a 60mph road. The Council’s Public Notice said that it is felt that 60mph is no longer an appropriate speed in this area due to the increased traffic.

The Council is proposing to reduce some speed limits in the area from 60mph to 50mph to help provide a safer road network for all highway users.

Comments supporting or objecting to the proposal should be put in writing, stating the grounds on which they are made, and posted to Highway Consultations, Bedford Borough Council, Room 436, Borough Hall, Cauldwell Street, Bedford, MK42 9AP.

Or sent via email to highway.consultations@bedford.gov.uk, to reach the Council no later than 16th October 2020.
