He knew his place in that sacred sanctuary
A Yorkie , fought to reach his century
Never before have we seen the likes
Of this formidable soul who captured the light
Of not just his homeland, or the stars gazing down
On others so distant from our far away crown
It all started as a century treat
One hundred laps around his garden peat
To raise a quid or two, for our NHS
Low and behold you would never have guessed
He touched the souls of far & wide
33 million pounds of the nations pride
Always bright and beyond tomorrow
Still something to do , he decided to follow
A secret passion and sing for his supper
Liverpool cop unlike any other.
Captain Tom you’ll be welcome above
With open arms from angels & doves
May God Bless Captain Sir Tom Moore
Mr P. Stafford, Ashton-under-Lyne
