The Great British Home Chorus was an online choir set up by BBC choirmaster Gareth Malone in the first lockdown. Members further developed a support network on Facebook called ‘GBHC Friends’ and from that grew regional subsections.

The GBHCF Wales group has been singing online and holding concerts amongst themselves on Zoom. Most recently, four of their members (Ann Gibson, Ceri Jones, Heather Mote and Maria Browne) have written and composed a song of tribute, in memory of Captain Sir Tom Moore, who inspired the nation with his heroic walking, whilst raising thirty nine million pounds for the NHS.

The Welsh choristers have recorded the song with the other GBHCFW members from all around Wales and intend to send it to Captain Sir Tom’s family to comfort them in their sad loss. It is also their way of thanking Sir Tom for all he did to raise the spirits of our nation and the NHS.

May He rest in Peace.
