Two Marston Moretaine residents are starting 2021 on a high, after winning £50,000 each with People’s Postcode Lottery. Their postcode, MK43 0WX, was announced as a winner with the lottery on Tuesday 5 January.

The winners found out how much they had won over a video call with People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Danyl Johnson.

One of the winners, 67-year-old Linda Bowditch, gasped when her cheque for £50K was revealed. She said: “Oh my God, that’s amazing! I don’t believe it.

When asked if she had any plans to treat herself with her winnings, the care home worker was quick to say: “I’m going to get a hot tub in my garden to start with.

She also thought a holiday could be on the cards: “It would be really great to get away somewhere nice. Somewhere that’s warm, lots of sun!

The mother-of-four added that she would help out her children and treat her grandchildren too.

The other winner chose to remain anonymous but their prize will be paid into their bank account.

People’s Postcode Lottery costs £10 a month to play and there are guaranteed winners every day. People play with their chosen postcode and are automatically entered into all draws.

People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador, Danyl Johnson, said: “Congratulations to our Marston Moretaine winners. What an amazing way to start the year, I’m sure Linda will love her hot tub and I hope she gets that holiday soon.

A minimum of 32% of ticket sales goes directly to charities and players of People’s Postcode Lottery have helped raise over £600 million to date for thousands of good causes across Britain and internationally.

This draw was promoted by environmental charity, Client Earth which has received over £2 million in funding thanks to players of People’s Postcode Lottery.
