New on-call firefighters start their 12-week training journey

Ten Bedfordshire residents have this week started a rigorous 12 week training course to become on-call firefighters.

After a selection process, including medical and fitness assessments, the new recruits have been appointed to take part in the Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service’s (BFRS) on-call firefighter trainee programme. This course will last twelve weeks, covering a full and extensive programme of training, where they will learn everything they need to know to become fully trained firefighters.
