Child abuse and neglect concerns amidst Coronavirus pandemic

Bedfordshire Police has said that due to families isolating themselves due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many children and young people could be at a heightened risk of abuse and neglect.
School is often regarded as a safe place by children who are victims of abuse. But at the moment children are no longer regularly interacting with trusted adults such as teachers, social workers, grandparents, and neighbours.
So there is less opportunity for any safeguarding issues to be flagged with the relevant authorities.

The BBFC’s age ratings, ratings info and resources can also help families more generally choose content well, and avoid potentially distressing material.
