Bedfordshire Police has said that it received a call on Tuesday 13 October 2020 reporting a man had kicked a dog near Cranfield Airfield. On Saturday (17 October) it received a call from a dog walker reporting several piles of dog treats found along a tree line and concerns that they could be poisoned.
The Force hasn’t received any reports that dogs have become ill in the area but dog walkers are asked to remain vigilant and report any concerns.
Community officers have been made aware of the incidents and will include the area in their local patrols.Read More
Dogs Trust, the dog welfare charity, has issued advice to reassure owners around coronavirus transmission and dogs following recent media coverage.
It said that there are currently no confirmed cases of the coronavirus (COVID-19) being transmitted from dogs to people. Adding that the main source of infection is human-to-human transmission.
