Garden waste collections restart in Bedford Borough on Monday 1 March, following the usual winter pause. Garden waste can go in the green-lidded bin. This bin should be put out alongside the orange recycling bin by 6am on your next recycling day, and it will be collected every other week.

Central Bedfordshire Council: garden waste collection winter break
Once again there will be a winter break for all kerbside collections of household garden waste across Central Bedfordshire.
The collections will be suspended from Monday, 7 December 2020 until Friday, 26 February 2021 inclusive. Residents are encouraged to check their last collection date for their area, which will be either the week commencing Monday, 23 November or Monday, 30 November.
The collections will resume again on Monday, 1 March 2021. All other waste collections will operate as normal during this period.

Fortnightly garden waste collections returning to Bedford Borough
From Monday 17 August, Bedford Borough Council’s garden waste collections will be returning to fortnightly collections.
These collections were suspended and then reintroduced on a monthly basis to ensure that the bin crews could continue an uninterrupted collection of household waste and recycling, whilst ensuring they could social distance.
Now, with crews stabilised the Council is reintroducing garden waste collections on a normal schedule of every two weeks, with the recycling collections.
