Cranfield company secures Innovate UK funding for innovative COVID-19 Response
Astrimar, a specialist engineering consultancy with offices at the Cranfield Innovation Centre, has won a grant worth £50,000 from Innovate UK. This will be used to help to develop a new online tool to help product developers gain rapid acceptance of technology in response to the current COVID-19 pandemic.

GMB delivers PPE to Central Bedfordshire and Bedford Borough care homes
Members of GMB Beds County Branch, along with Mick Lancaster GMB regional organiser, have been delivering Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to all staff, including GMB members working in local authority care homes across Central Bedfordshire and Bedford Borough Councils.
GMB members working in these care homes were concerned about the future supply of PPE. GMB Beds County Branch said that on behalf of its members it took matters into its own hands and sourced and purchased additional backup supplies of PPE.
