Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes health & social care staff urged to get their vaccinations

Health and social care staff from across Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes (BLMK) are encouraged to get their COVID-19 vaccinations as soon as possible.
Self-referral is now an option for health and care staff working in BLMK in the below categories to attend Milton Keynes University Hospital (MKUH) to be vaccinated.

GP jabbing teams in Bedford are ready to move on to cohort six of the nine highest COVID-19 risk groups from next week, a meeting heard.
Teams running the local vaccination sites in the borough have been vaccinating at the rate of more than 1,000 people a day – but anyone who has missed out so far in cohorts 1-5 can still get their vaccination.

The Freemasons are encouraging its 200,000 members to roll up their sleeves and volunteer to help vaccinate the population.
To help protect all UK citizens during this difficult time, the Freemasons have also offered their lodges to administer the vital jabs and many buildings are being used as Covid-19 vaccination centres.

Some 8,900 health and social care staff across the Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes (BLMK) region are set to receive letters urging them to take their COVID vaccines, a meeting heard.
And the BLMK partnership board, which brings together council and health service leaders, was also told that people in most vulnerable cohorts 1-4 could also be written to within days to overcome stubborn levels of “vaccine hesitancy”.
