Central Bedfordshire Council says “thank you” to volunteers

Central Bedfordshire Council is saying ‘thank you’ to volunteers throughout Central Bedfordshire who have stepped up to make a difference to others.
This is part of Volunteers’ Week, the annual celebration of the contribution millions of people make across the UK through volunteering.

Bedfordshire Police said that it volunteers increase reassurance for residents across the county, as well as providing operational support to frontline teams.
During this uncertain time, the force said that it has seen a huge increase in support and is extending its thanks to each person who has helped during the pandemic.
As part of Volunteers’ Week, the Force is highlighting the work carried out by volunteers in the Specials, Street Watch, Speed Watch and in the Cadets.

This Volunteers’ Week (1 to 7 June), Bedford Borough Council is celebrating the selfless acts of kindness that have made a difference to the lives of residents. Including some of the borough’s most vulnerable residents since the outbreak of COVID-19.
Since March, more than 1,000 volunteers came forward to help the Community Hub support hundreds of Borough residents every week with shopping, collecting prescriptions, helping to pack and deliver food parcels or just simply having someone to talk to while isolating.
