Tenderlore – Live at Forest Folk and Roots on 22nd March 2019

Tenderlore the Alternative-Folk trio is coming to Cranfield on 22 March 2019. They bring their rich vocal textures and exciting guitar based songs to entrance you.
The trio, Hayley McDonnell, Olly Lewis and Rob Kitney met whilst at university in Southampton as fellow singer/songwriters. Inspired by each other’s music they began to collaborate on each other’s songs and make their mark on the local music scene.

Get involved with the first KickOff@3 local football tournament

Local companies and businesses are invited to sponsor Bedfordshire Police’s charity KickOff@3 football tournament, part of a national initiative organised by police forces across the country in a bid to engage with young people they wouldn’t normally reach.

Applications now open for 2019 National Youth Music Camps

Applications have opened for this year’s National Youth Music Camps, which take place over three weeks during July and August.

The National Youth Music Camps offer young people of all musical abilities the chance to come together and take part in an inspiring and varied week-long music and camping experience. Now in their 49th year, they are managed by The Stables Theatre in Milton Keynes, one of the UK’s leading music organisations. Alumni include Radiohead’s Thom Yorke, Guy Chambers (songwriter for Robbie Williams) and Tim Firth (writer of Calendar Girls). This year’s Camps will be taking place at Piper’s Corner School in Great Kingshill near High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire.

Brian McFadden live UK Tour comes to Milton Keynes

Brian McFadden has a brand new album out, Otis, and he’s taking it on tour around the UK this April 2019. He will be visiting Liverpool, Birmingham, Southampton, Milton Keynes and Glasgow.

Brian’s album, Otis, was released in January 2019 and it pays tribute to the soul legend Otis Redding. Brian is going back to his love for soul music that showcases his voice at the very best. It can also be expected that the Westlife hits will appear amongst the set, which you all know and love.

Bedford Festival of Motoring Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd June 2019

The inaugural Bedford Festival of Motoring in June 2019 is being brought to the town by Bedford Borough Council in partnership with Adrian Grubb of Events with Panache. Adrian has previously been involved with the successful launch and management of the Stratford-upon-Avon Festival of Motoring.

Holocaust Memorial Day Commemoration

Holocaust Memorial Day events will once again be taking place in Bedford, on Sunday 27th January.

Holocaust Memorial Day is the international day to remember those killed under Nazi persecution and in subsequent genocides in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur.

OUTing the Past Festival of LGBT History at The Higgins Bedford

February marks the beginning of LGBT History Month and the theme this year is Peace, Reconciliation and Activism. As part of LGBT History Month, The Higgins Bedford is very excited to be a hub venue for the OUTing the Past Festival for the second year running.
From 11am till 4pm at The Higgins Bedford there will be stall holders with information on LGBT History, as well as LGBT rights, support and activism. Confirmed stalls include Schools Out UK, Q Youth Bedford and the Terrence Higgins Trust.
