Bloor Homes brings its Bake Off to Cranfield; raising dough for Macmillan

Bloor Homes will be hosting its very own ‘Bake Off’ event at its Cranfield Park development on Mill Road, in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

Taking place from 10am-12pm on Friday 28th September, as part of the Macmillan World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, Bloor Homes is inviting members of the local community to bring their best bakes to help raise funds for the charity.

All entries into the Bloor Homes Bake Off competition will be judged by the development site manager before being sliced and sold, along with any other cakes donated for the Macmillan fundraising event.

Stewartby Operatic Society’s latest production

Stewartby Operatic Society present Gilbert and Sullivan’s comic operetta “Ruddigore”.

Ruddigore is a comic operetta tale of a witch’s curse coming between two people in love, a classic villain, a troupe of professional bridesmaids and a gallery of disgruntled ghosts.

It all ends happily and includes some delightful music. 20th to 24th November at Stewartby Village Hall.

Forest of Marston Vale Fun Palace

The Forest of Marston Vale is part of Fun Palaces 2018, a free, nationwide campaign for culture at the heart of community and community at the heart of culture happening over the weekend of the 6 & 7 October 2018.

It is a weekend of dancing, yoga, mindfulness, board games, piano classes, map making, toddler signing classes, tree walks and experiments with water!

It is based at the Forest Centre, Marston Moretaine

Heritage Open Days are back in Bedford Borough

Celebrate history and architecture across Bedford Borough this September with Heritage Open Days. This year the event runs from Thursday 6th to Sunday 9th and Thursday 13th to Sunday 16th September.

Volunteers will be showcasing hidden stories and architectural treasures across the Borough, all completely free. Such as Bedfordshire’s only complete windmill and a free town centre guided walk of ‘Bedford’s Historical Plaques: Blue, Bronze and Others’. This tour is a chance to find out some of the fascinating history behind the ordinary doors and windows in Bedford.
