Acoustic indie-folk band at The College Arms 21st June 2019

DodoBones are an acoustic indie-folk band, with an ironic-pop edge. Formed in Hertfordshire in 2009, they have been attracting attention with raw and heartfelt lyrics, seducing vocals, pulsing and gritty acoustic guitar, double bass and percussion.

The band performs their own material, along with unusual and clever interpretations of well-known songs. They have a good sense of humour when it comes to the darkness of life and this comes across in their performances, which are tight and full of passion.

Over the years, DodoBones have built up a wealth of experience. They have played live in countless venues, breweries, bars, coffee shops, record shops and pubs across the UK, Ireland, Spain, France, Gibraltar and The Netherlands.

The band is made up of Robbyn Snow on lead vocals, Stephen Patmore on guitar and spoken word, Ian Newman on double bass and Mark Gordon on percussion.

Support is from Northamptonshire acoustic artist Velvet Engine, described as “Yearning Alt-Folk, with a sprightly but reflective soul”.

Honest and heartfelt, yet timid and catchy – Velvet Engine exudes soft and soulful femininity.

With 3 EP’s under her belt – ‘Glimpse Of The Sun’, ‘This Old Hat, and ‘Good People’, Velvet Engine is part of a new breed of heart-warming alt-folk artists.

A pleasant reprise from the day’s tribulations …. these are the perfect sounds to have a cup-of-tea to !!.
