Local environmental charity The Greensand Trust is holding a number of events this October Half Term at both The Working Woodlands Centre in Maulden Wood and Rushmere Country Park in Heath and Reach.
Magical Autumn lantern walk
Thursday 24 October 5.30pm – 7.30pm
Experience the magic of the autumn woodland and learn about its night time creatures through wonderful stories told by Jane Lambourne, local professional storyteller.
Decorate a beautiful natural lantern (pre-made) to meander through the woods at dusk and light up a whole new world before returning to The Working Woodlands Centre for refreshments.
- Family guided walk, minimum age 5 years
- All children must be accompanied

- Ticket price £12 (adults and children) includes a personalised lantern and all materials to take home and a hot drink on return
Halloween Disco 2019
Thursday 24 October 6.30pm – 9pm
Treat the kids to an evening of spooky Halloween fun in the Tree Tops Café. Suitable for ages 5 -12 – come to the park after dark!
Make sure you come in your Halloween costume!
Ticket includes hot dog, juice, fancy dress competition, games and dancing.
Bar open and food available for adults.
Tickets just £12 per child (accompanying adults do not require a ticket).
Feed the Birds 2019
Sunday 27 October 11am – 3pm
A whole day of family-friendly fun at the end of the Half Term holidays. Come and learn more about our feathered friends and how we can help them thrive.
Aimed at the whole family – all children must be accompanied by an adult.
Free to take part though there may be a small charge for some activities – £3 exit fee applies.
