Community fire station open days

This summer Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service is holding open days at its community fire stations. The first one this year is at Ampthill Community Fire Station between 12pm and 4pm on Saturday 16 June 2018.

There’s plenty of family fun for children of all ages, the opportunity to explore the station, and to meet your local firefighters.

The activities include:

  • Blaze alley
  • Dunk the firefighter
  • Splat the rat
  • Raffle
  • BBQ

There is also the chance to have a go at using some of the specialist equipment and to explore the secrets of the fire engines.

Fire prevention information

The Prevention Team will also be on hand to provide you with advice and information about fire safety. Such as how to prevent a fire in your home.

Also, if you are interested in joining the fire service either as a Firefighter, an on-call Firefighter, working in our Control Room taking calls or as a Fire Cadet, staff will be on hand for you to find out more.
