Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service (BFRS) has said that an investigation is to be carried out into how a fire destroyed a large agricultural building in Marston Moretaine
At 3.15am yesterday morning (7 April 2021) BFRS was called to a fire in Woburn Road, Marston Moretaine. The fire involved a farm building measuring 40m x 20m full of wood and plant machinery.
LPG cylinders and an asbestos roof were involved in the fire. Salvage operations were also undertaken.
BFRS sent a number of units including; two rescue pumps from Kempston and one from Bedford, water carriers from Kempston and Toddington and two drones.
This incident was scaled down once the fire was put out and fire relief crews continued damping down the site until it was safe to be left.
A spokesperson said a fire investigation will be undertaken, when it is safe to do so, to find out the cause of the fire.
