Manga artist Irina Richards comes to Bedfordshire library

Dunstable Library is offering young people (13-18yrs) the chance to work with Manga artist Irina Richards. Irina is the author and illustrator of the Chemical Blue series.

Irina is running a series of workshops at the library, where young people will be able to learn all about Manga. This includes designing characters, learning about Cosplay and so much more.

The first workshop is on Saturday, 17 March. This is a general drop in session open to anyone aged 13 to 18 years old who would like to find out more about this great opportunity.  During the session Irina will introduce different Manga types and drawing basics such as facial features and expressions.

Anyone attending the first session will be able to sign up to the following weekly workshops as well as attending a celebration event.

The workshops will run every Saturday for 10 weeks from the 17th March until the 19th May between 11am and 1pm at the library.

Great opportunity for young artists

Irina is also offering an added bonus for any budding artists, anyone who attends all the workshops will also have the opportunity to work with her to complete a Bronze Arts Award qualification.

These look good on CV’s and can help young people get into college. As part of the award young people create a portfolio of work they can take to interviews.
